Programmatic SEO in Turkey

A large, linguistically demanding single-language market where correct Turkish inflection decides indexation, not just readability.

We build morphology-aware Turkish programmatic SEO surfaces — suffix-family keyword modelling, native Turkish authoring, and locale-correct engineering that most non-Turkish teams get wrong at the URL-slug level before they even reach content.

What we do here

One engine, six moving parts — running in Turkey

Programmatic SEO is not a content order. It is a data model, a template system, a performance budget and a maintenance routine that has to keep working after launch. We own all four.

01

Suffix-family keyword modelling

Keyword matrices built around vowel-harmony and suffix variants rather than single exact-match strings, so the template captures the real spread of how Turkish speakers actually phrase a query.

02

Native Turkish authoring, not translation

Content authored directly by a native speaker or thoroughly human-edited from a machine draft — a raw MT publish is immediately recognisable to Turkish readers and we don't ship it.

03

Correct Turkish locale handling end-to-end

İ/ı case-folding fixed at the URL-slugging, database-collation and search-index level before a single page ships, closing the most common silent bug on Turkish sites built by non-Turkish teams.

04

Incumbent-gap targeting

We map where Trendyol, Hepsiburada and Sahibinden generate thin content and build there, rather than competing head-on for terms the domestic leaders already own.

05

Regional price and behaviour tiering

Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir templated with real regional price sensitivity and cultural context rather than one flattened national assumption.

06

Index governance, monthly

Coverage, cannibalisation and pruning reviews, with a Turkish-morphology spot-check to catch suffix-blind pages before they stall.

E-commerce & Retail programmatic SEO in Turkey

Categories, Facets, Brands, Buying Guides

Most catalogues bleed traffic through duplicate facets, thin category copy and a crawl budget spent on parameters nobody searches for. We decide which facet combinations deserve an indexable URL, give each one merchandising logic and unique copy, and canonicalise the rest — so the catalogue works as a search asset instead of a crawl trap.

  • Brand + category crossovers
  • Buying guides
  • Product comparison pages

You're not going to out-rank Trendyol on head category terms. You can out-rank thin competitor pages on comparison, guide and niche-category content — provided the keyword model actually understands Turkish suffix variants.

How we get you ranking

The order we work in for Turkey

No batch of pages goes live before the batch before it has been measured. That sequencing is the reason these surfaces survive core updates.

01

Morphology and incumbent audit

We map the suffix families around your target keywords and identify exactly where Trendyol, Hepsiburada or Sahibinden generate weak pages you can outbuild.

02

Locale-correct entity model

URL architecture with İ/ı case-folding solved at the database and routing level, before content work starts.

03

Pilot batch of 100–300 pages

Published and measured before scale, same discipline as any market — Turkish crawl budgets aren't infinite either.

04

Scale with morphology and locale gates

Every template checked for suffix-family coverage and correct Turkish character handling before it ships.

05

Regional tiering for Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir

District and city-specific content built where price sensitivity or logistics genuinely differ.

06

Measure, prune, refresh

Monthly review, with particular attention to which suffix variants are actually driving impressions versus which were guessed.

The stack

How the Turkey build actually runs

Your data, your WordPress, your domain. We bring the engine, the gates and the discipline.

Publish from your live source, in correct Turkish.

No re-keying, no case-folding bugs.

Sheets, Airtable, your product API, a marketplace feed, or a CSV drop — each row becomes a page with the İ/ı case-folding handled correctly at the database and routing level before it ever reaches a URL.

Market reality

What building at scale in Turkey is actually like

Turkey is one of the largest search markets bridging Europe and Asia, and unlike the Gulf it is functionally monolingual for commercial purposes — Turkish dominates almost every category, and English content is a rounding error outside a narrow band of B2B SaaS and tourism-to-foreigners categories.

The single biggest technical trap for non-Turkish teams is agglutination: Turkish inflects nouns and verbs with suffix chains (vowel harmony, consonant mutation) that a naive keyword-matching template completely misses. 'İstanbul'da otel' and 'İstanbul otelleri' are both valid, high-volume phrasings of a similar intent, and a page built around one exact string string-matches poorly against the other unless the templating logic understands Turkish morphology.

Domestic e-commerce, marketplace and travel platforms (Trendyol, Hepsiburada, Sahibinden) are extremely sophisticated programmatic operators already, which means the open ground in Turkey is less 'nobody has built this' and more 'the vertical leaders have built this well, everyone else has built it badly' — a well-executed Turkish surface can still win against thin competitor pages, but not against the category leaders on their home turf.

Google holds the large majority of Turkish search, with Yandex retaining a small but non-trivial presence from historical usage patterns.
Turkish morphology means keyword research tools built for English or Arabic under-report real query variety; suffix-aware keyword clustering is necessary, not optional.
Mobile-first, high social-commerce usage (particularly Instagram-driven discovery) shapes how commercial intent reaches the SERP, especially in fashion, beauty and home goods.
Where it goes wrong

The failure modes we keep finding in Turkey

Scaled pages don't get demoted for being scaled. They get demoted for being interchangeable, slow, or wrong about the place they claim to serve.

Suffix-blind templates missing query variety

A template built around one inflected form ('otelleri') misses the equally common uninflected or differently-inflected searches for the same intent.

Machine-translated Turkish reading as obviously foreign

Word order and suffix choice in machine translation frequently produce grammatically valid but unnatural Turkish that readers notice immediately.

Character encoding and diacritic errors

İ/I and ı/i case-folding bugs (the Turkish dotted/dotless I problem) silently break URL slugs, search indexing and even login systems built without Turkish locale awareness.

Competing directly with sophisticated domestic incumbents

Trendyol, Hepsiburada and Sahibinden run extremely mature programmatic surfaces; head-term competition against them specifically is usually not winnable.

Regional dialect and cost-of-living variance ignored

Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir have materially different price sensitivity and search behaviour that a single national template flattens.

Playbook

How we build a Turkey surface

Same order every time. The uniqueness gate and the performance budget come before a single page publishes.

  1. 1
    Morphology-aware keyword modelling

Build the keyword matrix around suffix families and vowel-harmony variants, not single exact-match strings, so the template captures the real query spread.

  2. 2
    Native Turkish authoring, not translation

Content authored directly in Turkish by a native speaker, or a genuinely thorough human edit of a machine draft — never a raw MT publish.

  3. 3
    Correct Turkish locale handling end-to-end

İ/ı case folding fixed at the URL-slugging, database-collation and search-index level before a single page ships.

  4. 4
    Attack the layer incumbents under-serve

Don't fight Trendyol or Sahibinden on head terms; target the specific comparison, guide and niche-category content they generate thinly.

  5. 5
    Regional price and behaviour tiering

Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir templates reflect real regional price sensitivity rather than one national assumption.

  6. 6
    Publish in waves and measure

Batch publishing with an indexation check between waves, same discipline as any other market — Turkish crawl budgets are not infinite either.

Questions

Programmatic SEO in Turkey — straight answers

Is English content worth building at all for Turkey?

Mostly no, outside a narrow band of B2B SaaS and inbound-tourism content aimed at foreign visitors. Commercial intent is overwhelmingly Turkish.

Why does our Turkish page rank for one keyword form but not its variants?

Almost always a morphology problem — the template targets one inflected form and misses the suffix family around it.

Can we compete with Sahibinden or Trendyol directly?

Not on head terms in their core categories. The opening is in the comparison, guide and niche content they generate thinly.

Do we need regional pages for Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir separately?

For price-sensitive or logistics-heavy categories, yes — the three cities behave differently enough to justify it.

What's the most common technical bug on Turkish sites built by non-Turkish teams?

İ/ı case-folding errors that quietly break URL slugs and search indexing — a locale bug, not a content bug.

Want the Turkey surface scoped before you build it?

We'll audit the data source, size the first batch, set the performance budget and tell you honestly if programmatic is the wrong tool for your category.
